Note for the total beginners in Art : A new medium is a challenge even for the professional artists. Beautiful art takes years to achieve. For each mistake you make, a lesson has been learnt. Never give up

                                                                                                ACRYLIC

Lately a great many questions have been raised about Acrylic. Many artists try this medium and abandon it after the first trial. I have seen teachers making demos and none of them use the medium in the same way. The reason being that Acrylic is so versatile that it can be  interpreted a variety of style.

After 25 years of experiment with Acrylic I have my personal approach that I want to share with you.

In the next few months I will show you how  I build some pictures in Acrylic. My aim is to encourage the complete beginner in art or help more accomplished amateurs.

                                        *************************************

You can paint acrylic as watercolour with the advantage that you can correct mistakes easily by painting over but you will not have the ultra luminosity with wet in wet that you can achieve with watercolour.

This painting was executed in Acrylic on Watercolour board.

Acrylic can look like Oil. It is very pratical for the artist who do not want a waiting time between application. Example painting outside or just having a great idea that you want to paint now !

This painting is on canvas 16" x 20" and could be mistaken for an Oil painting.

You can experiment and have great fun with all subjects, landscape, semi abstract, abstract etc... by using an aray of mediums that I will introduce to at a later time.

If after trying Acrylic you do not like it DO NOT THROW OR GIVE AWAY  your paint since that you can use it for Craft.

Example of how with acrylic I have decorated a small plastic box. It was a trial that I have enjoy very much.
